Kundalini yoga and meditation for a calm and open heart
In-Person & VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
Event description:
It beats about 100,000 times a day. It delivers oxygen and nutrients to every cell in your body. It sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to it. Your heart is a mighty organ.
Extremely intelligent, your heart picks up vibrational signals. You could call it your intuitive centre. When you feel something — such as an emotion, the answer to a question, the ‘right’ decision — you usually feel it in your heart. “What is your heart saying?” is a question we often ask friends when guiding them.
From a spiritual perspective, the heart is the seat of the soul, the door to your supreme self, consciousness, and inner peace.
In yogic teachings, we view the heart from the chakra energy system. The heart chakra is also known as the fourth chakra and represents unconditional love: A place where pure love exists both for yourself and others.
Due to the nature of where our heart is located physically, our posture plays a big role and can give us an indication of how open our heart is. With a straight spine, shoulders relaxed, and chest slightly raised, your heart has space to do its’ job — both physically and energetically. An open heart chakra feels confident, fearless, and ready to receive love, new opportunities and relationships of all kinds.
Over time, with repeated heartaches, broken trust, and low self-esteem, our posture begins to change. Our spine curves and shoulders tense to wrap our ribcage tightly around our heart as a protective mechanism. We feel physically protected, however, our heart feels blocked and its’ vibrational qualities decrease in strength. A blocked heart chakra feels timid, self-conscious, mis-trusting, and closed off to new opportunities and relationships of all kinds.
In this kundalini yoga and meditation workshop, you’ll:
• learn the basics of posture for opening the heart
• unlock the lock of the heart
• increase your inner power
• feel calm and ready to receive love in all forms
All are welcome. No previous experience with kundalini yoga required.
